About the Role
As part of our Emergency & Critical Care team, you will:
Deliver exceptional nursing care to emergency and critical patients
Make independent decisions for your patients
Perform triage and initial patient assessments of emergency cases
Monitor anaesthesia and assist with advanced procedures
Run diagnostics and manage complex clinical treatments
Communicate compassionately with clients during difficult moments
Maintain accurate medical records using Smart flow and EzyVet
Work collaboratively with an experienced ECC and specialist veterinary team

What We’re Looking For:
We are specifically seeking experienced ECC veterinary nurses who can confidently work in a busy emergency environment with minimal support or supervision.
The ideal candidate will be:
Experienced in emergency and critical care nursing
Calm, efficient, and confident under pressure
A strong communicator and supportive teammate
Organised, proactive, and detail-focused
Resilient, compassionate, and passionate about high-quality patient care
Essential:
Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)
Minimum 2+ years clinical nursing experience
Previous ECC experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities and Duties
- Pre-anaesthetic assessments and patient preparation for surgery
- Administer and monitor anaesthesia across complex surgical procedures
- Real-time monitoring of vital parameters with adjustments as cases demand
- Analgesia and pain management across all stages
- Perioperative nursing care across pre-op, intra-op, and recovery
- Collaboration with ECC, inpatient nursing, and the surgical team
- Meticulous record-keeping and strict adherence to safety protocols
About You
- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
- Anaesthesia experience from a hospital or GP setting
- Comfortable with advanced monitoring equipment, Calm under pressure with strong attention to detail
- team player who takes clinical excellence seriously
- Passionate about patient care
- Eager to learn and willingness to try new things
Desirable:
- GP, specialist or emergency hospital experience
- Interest in VTS (Veterinary Technician Specialist) in anaesthesia
