Anaesthesia Nurse - Specialist Surgery
Location: Miranda | Sutherland Shire
Opportunities: Permanent Full & Part -Time
A rare opportunity for an experienced Anaesthesia Nurse to work at the highest level directly alongside Specialist Anaesthetists and Surgeons on complex, high-acuity cases every day. This is a permanent, full or part-time position with no mandatory on call, no weekends, and no public holidays. The caseload is genuinely varied and challenging. The mentorship is real. The pay is above award.
Responsibilities and Duties
· Pre-anaesthetic assessments and patient preparation for surgery
· Administer and monitor anaesthesia across complex surgical procedures
· Real-time monitoring of vital parameters with adjustments as cases demand
· Analgesia and pain management across all stages
· Perioperative nursing care across pre-op, intra-op, and recovery
· Collaboration with ECC, inpatient nursing, and the surgical team
· Meticulous record-keeping and strict adherence to safety protocols
About You
· Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
· Solid anaesthesia experience from a hospital or referral setting
· Confident with advanced monitoring equipment no handholding needed
· Calm under pressure with strong attention to detail
· A team player who takes clinical excellence seriously
Desirable:
· Specialist or emergency hospital experience
· Interest in VTS (Veterinary Technician Specialist) in anaesthesia
