Surgery

Surgical expertise

When your pet is suffering with an illness and you are told they need to have surgery, you need to know that you will have the right surgical team by your side.

And when you’re a vet with a patient that needs referral to a specialist surgeon, you want to give your patient and their owner the assurance that you are placing them in the right surgical hands.

The surgical team at VSOS are second to none. We have exceptional expertise and experience in veterinary surgery.

We have trained in prominent international institutions, including the Royal Veterinary College in London and the Animal Medical Center (AMA) in New York. And our surgeons, Dr Andrew Levien and Dr Nina Lorenz, are leading specialists in orthopaedic surgery, neurosurgery and soft tissue reconstructive surgery.

Orthopaedic surgery

Dr Andrew Levien is a standout as a veterinary orthopaedic surgeon for a number of reasons. Not only did he work with the world-leading surgeons who created the hip replacement procedure used in veterinary medicine globally today. He also completed a three-year surgical residency at the renowned Animal Medical Center (AMC) in the United States.

What makes Dr Levien a leader in his field is his extensive experience and the results he has achieved for his patients with the surgeries he has performed. He has faced every surgical challenge there is… and overcome it to give his patients a better quality of life.

Orthopaedic surgeries can require more invasive techniques, which is why our team puts your pet’s welfare first and foremost, and implements the right plans to manage pain and recovery.
