Passion for orthopaedic surgery and neurosurgery

Dr Nikola Heblinski is a specialist in small animal surgery.

Her main interests are orthopaedic surgery and neurosurgery, but she also enjoys soft tissue surgeries and minimally invasive procedures.

Nikola graduated from the Freie University Berlin, Germany, in 2007. From 2007 until 2010 she did her doctoral degree at the Department of Veterinary Pathology, also at the Freie University Berlin.

In 2011, Nikola moved to the south of Germany to complete a one-year rotating internship followed by a one-year surgical internship at a large referral hospital in Augsburg.

Following her internships she worked at different referral hospitals in Germany and Austria, before she started her three-year surgical residency in 2015.

From 2016 to 2018 she continued her specialist training at a small animal referral centre in Strömsholm, Sweden.

Highly experienced

After successfully sitting her board certifying exam to become a member of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons in February 2019, she continued to work in Sweden before moving to Sydney.

Nikola held a clinical position at the University Veterinary Teaching Hospital Sydney before joining our team in June 2020.

Throughout her career, Nikola has published in various veterinary journals, including the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Journal of Comparative Pathology, Journal of Feline Medicine and Surgery and Journal of Small Animal Practice.

Nikola enjoys all aspects of small animal surgery and strives to offer the best and most advanced care possible for our four-legged friends and family members!
